Police vehicles increase their role in law enforcement

Police motorcycles and cars (Buick sedans) and some high-ranking officers of the Queensland Police Force at the opening of the new Police Garage, Petrie Terrace. Commissioner C J Carroll is in the middle of the group standing.
Forces around the country were mechanising. In 1937 the Tasmanian Government provided funding for the purchase of 54 motorcycles and sidecars to complete the mechanisation of their Force.
